Health insurance companies issuing travel health insurance plans will require you to enter the date of departure and return on the travel health insurance application. Approved coverage will provide benefits only between those dates.

Most travel health insurance plans are accident-only policies that pay for expenses related to unforeseen hospital visits. Travel health insurance plans may not be used for routine medical exams, preventive care and immunizations, treatment of pre-existing conditions, drug or overdose treatments, maternity treatment or other expenses that are not considered medically necessary.
